Art has always been a part of my life whether I knew it or not , I initially wanted to be an engineer when I was in school but as life teaches us sometimes things don’t always work out the way we want , so I moved on to Art and that is where I found something I could really get behind
I would do commission drawings for students and friends to earn a little bit of money , these drawings would be portraits of someone’s girlfriend or boyfriend for Valentine’s Day or design a tattoo concept for the rebellious teens amounts me and to my surprise some people ended up getting my designs tattooed on them
In 2011 I endud up leaving school to move abroad hoping for something different for my life but again life has different plans and in 2012 I came back home to South Africa
Upon my arrival back home I had to think real hard with what I was going to do with my life as all feisty teenagers have to do at some stage
So I decided to try work in the tattoo industry as I loved the thought of having my artwork on someone and if people were willing to get my designs tattooed I could only have imagined what it was like to do the tattoos my self so with that as my only source of information I went out into the world looking for a job at a tattoo shop
I did not know much about tattoo shops and what was required but I did know where one was so I went past and spoke to the artist there about a possibility of taking me on as an apprentice, I was told to put together a portfolio of my best work and bring it next time I am around and so that is what I did ,pulled any and all things I drew into a flip file and went straight back and to my surprise I got the job
My name is Werner
Jordaan known as
Lestat or big tasty tats.
I’m a tattoo artist from
Johannesburg South
Africa and I have been
tattooing about 20
years and 15 years
professionally. I have
won multiple awards
all across South Africa.
I do not specialise in a specific style of tattooing as
I do whatever works best for that specific client. I
am however known for tribal, lettering, black n
grey realism, color realism and illustrative styles
like Neo traditional, traditional and Japanese
Originally from Zimbabwe, my journey into the world of tattooing began with an apprenticeship in 2015. Since my school days, I’ve been fascinated by the art and culture of tattoos, and that passion has only grown stronger over the years.
I’ve had the opportunity to work in a few tattoo studios, each experience shaping me and helping me grow as an artist. Im grateful for the lessons I’ve learned from the some of the artists I’ve worked alongside. One thing I’ve come to truly believe is that tattooing is a lifelong learning process, the industry is always evolving, and so should we.
While I’m open to exploring most styles, I’m especially drawn to floral, abstract, and colour tattoos . They give me the most creative freedom and allow me to bring vibrant, meaningful pieces to life.
When I’m not tattooing or working on designs, I’m busy being a mom to my two amazing kids, who are the heart of my world
Hi, I am Juan – aka Juanaman Tats – a tattoo apprentice learning the ropes and grinding hard to earn my stripes in the tattoo world. I have always been a bit of a wild child – troubled, self- destructive and could never fit into a mould. Art became my escape and literally saved my life. I almost went into art therapy, but when I discovered tattooing, everything changed.- and I have not looked back since.
I am grateful to be mentored by the incredibly skilled Werner “Lestat” Jordaan, learning not just the craft but the discipline and passion it demands. My current focus? Fine tuning my technique, soaking up everything from the great artists around me. I have a deep love for American Traditional Tattoos, but since working in the industry my interests for other styles have peaked .
For me tattooing is not just Ink on skin -it is purpose it is therapy ,and it is what I live for.
